During the five-year overhauls of the LHB 530C locomotives, a series of locomotives compliant with the Decree 01/2015 ANSF and subsequent amendments, the reprofiling of the three axles was carried out.
This model, characterized by three axles with a floating central axle, requires special care during clamping and reprofiling activities.
The procedure begins with the disassembly of the drive shafts connecting the gearboxes and the turbo transmission, followed by the removal of the steps and other accessories in order to proceed with positioning on the lathe and the associated clamping. The presence of the floating central axle is managed using appropriate bearing covers to prevent axial movement.
In this case, the S1002 profile with dimensions of e32.5 h 28 and 6.7% was applied to the outer axles and a special profile was used for the floating axle, to ensure minimal wear and safe operation.
