☀️ With the arrival of nice weather season, the photovoltaic system of our workshop starts working again at full capacity!
During the spring of 2024, FVG Rail installed solar panels on the roof of different buildings to contribute to the electrical energy needs of the plant. The 100 kWp installed power produced more than 80 MWh last year in just a few months.
Furthermore, the in-pit-lathe machine is 100% powered by the panels!
After becoming an energy producer, FVG Rail became a member of a Renewable Energy Community (C.E.R.) of Friuli Venezia Giulia: by sharing part of the renewable energy produced by our system with the local net, it is possible to break down on losses due to energy transportation from dislocated production plants.
🌳 This way, since their installation, we have reduced our CO2 emissions by more than 100 tons, and fuel consumption by 40 tons. This is equal to planting almost 600 trees!
